Overview
Located in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, the Karisoke Research Center was established in 1967 by Dian Fossey to study and protect mountain gorillas. Fossey’s groundbreaking work brought global attention to the plight of these majestic creatures, and her legacy continues through the center’s conservation programs.
